Cake Pops! (She: Megan)

Hello Ladies! I'm Megan and I was so surprised/excited to do a post on this cute blog.
I'm recently married (almost 11 months) to the love of my life. We just moved to Arkansas for his new job. I'm trying to figure out my NEW life, in a NEW place and am enjoying the ride. I love reading, cooking, music, family and going on vacation :) That's me in a nutshell.

We've been living here in Arkansas for a couple months and still haven't gotten to know our neighbors very well. So I thought I would make a little treat to take over and say hello with. Today I am making CaKe PoPs and think we're going to be the most popular couple here after our neighbors taste these!

(Aren't they cute?)
Cake Pops

Ingredients:
1 13"x9" cake, baked as directed (I used chocolate but you could use any cake)
16 oz. cream cheese frosting
Candy wafers in a few different colors
lollipop sticks
**This recipe makes around 45-55 pops, depending how big you roll them

Step 1: After cake is cooled, crumble into a large bowl
Step 2: Add frosting and mix thoroughly
Step 3: Roll mixture into small balls and lay on a cookie sheet covered in wax paper. Place in the freezer for 15-20 minutes (you want these to get pretty hard) or you can place them in the fridge for a few hours
Step 4: Melt the candy wafers as directed

Step 5: Press a lollipop stick into a ball and dip into melted candy wafer dip (use a spoon to help cover the ball) Tap stick on edge of bowl to remove excess dip.

It's an pretty easy process AS LONG as your dip is hot and the chocolate balls are very cold! (Otherwise the balls won't stay on the lollipop sticks and the dip will get very heavy)

You can decorate these however you'd like. For some I shook sprinkles over the pops while they were still warm. For others I let them harden and then used a spoon to swirl different colors of dip all over.

These are AWESOME for any holiday or event you have going on.
Examples: baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, etc.
If you want these holiday themed, try shaping the dough into hearts for Valentine's day or Easter eggs for Easter, etc. Or just buy candy wafers to match the colors of the holiday (red & green for Christmas, etc)
Really, there's just so many ways to decorate these!

Since I'm taking to these to people, I bought some clear mini treat bags to wrap them in. Tie a little ribbon around these and they are so cute!

Enjoy!
