All right. Just recently I've tried to be more eco-consious about my food, and cleaning products.
I have found the best homemade spot removers you can make in your own home, for all kinds of stains, at half the price!
For makeup on collars or clothes: Apply a small amount of shaving cream to the stain and rub in using your thumbs. If this doesn't remove all of it, add rubbing alcohol to the mix, and let it set on the area. Make sure the stain is completely removed before putting the garment into the washer.
Blood: Use a mixture of ammonia and liquid dishwashing soap, in a big tub of water and let soak for 30 min and wash.
Grass: Pour rubbing alcohol on the stain rubbing it with your thumbs. Make sure the stain is removed before putting it into the wash.
For your Copper bottom pans: Cut a lemon in half, squeeze it a little to get the juices going and pour about a tsp or two of salt on the lemon, and scrub the bottom of the pan. It will look good as new!
When Life Gives You Lemons....Clean!
For wood cutting boards: If they are stained, cut a lemon in half, squeeze it a little to get the juices going and rub over your board. This will naturally bleach and clean it.
For whiter whites: Slice some lemons, put in water and add your whites. Also squeeze lemon juice into your washer, on your next load of whites!
Just a few extra tips:
Dusty tv screen? Take a fabric softener sheet and wipe your screen.
Eliminate odors in plastic containers by adding a bit of water and a few shakes of dry mustard. Soak for a few hours and rinse.
To make your stainless steel appliances super shiny, use olive oil!
