Ya know what really chaps my hide?? Lot's of things...but, in particular...when there is a movie that I would love to see, my husband would love to see, or I would love to see with my family and it has just one or two ridiculous sex/nudity/violence scenes or a handful of the worst swear words that make me question whether I want that crap absorbed into my mind. So, most likely...I don't watch it.

Unless...
I go to http://www.goodmoviesonline.com/. Hollywood loves to eliminate all of these editing businesses and has managed to do quite well, but there is another one left. Unfortunately, Hollywood thinks they're creativity/art is being tampered with. However, I would beg to differ that the F-bomb, full frontals, and heads getting blown to bite-sized pieces are creative in the least. That's the oldest trick in the book. When you run out of script ideas, or need some easy ratings, throw in that garbage! Highly uncreative. Besides, those situations rarely have anything to do with the plot. They're just candy.
Don't argue with me or I'll take you down.

Anyway, so on Good Movies Online, you are buying the actual movie (the unedited version) and then they give you "for free" an edited "back-up" copy. That's the only way they can get around it. So, basically I buy them both...throw out (or sell) the original and you've got an edited movie. Totally appropriate to watch. We've seen lots of great movies this way!

Another thing I love is that you can choose whether you want it edited like a PG movie or a PG-13 movie. Basically, it comes to how much violence you would like. My husband....all about violence...he'll take the latter. Either way all of the nudity and swearing is cut out.
Anyway, love this company. Wish there were more of them. Wish Hollywood would get a clue that we love movies but not everyone wants to bask in crudeness and immorality. So there.

You know how I feel about the boobs thing... great post sista!
THANK you. I watched one of those movies last night, and couldn't help but wonder why they NEEDED to put in a boob shot. (Well, no one ever NEEDS to.)
Can't wait to use that website!
thanks so much. i've missed out on a lot of movies that i really wanted to see cuz i didn't want to see/hear the garbage. i will be checking out that site!!!!
Amen Sister! And yes, I do have relatives in New York. They are my hubby's uncle and Aunt.
What I really love is when movies are edited for cable and they dub over swear words with fun, ridiculous stuff.
Like in Die Hard, when Bruce Willis says, "Yippee-kay-aye, Melon Farmer!"
I totally agree. There's too many movies out there with pointless crap that doesn't need to be there.
But Schindler's List? Seriously? Who REALLY actually wants to watch that show? Talk about sad and depressing. I'd take an edited boobie shot over that one. But that's just me.
Thank you for sharing this information!!! We were just talking about this the other day, wondering if there was any way to cut out all of the "useless" nudity and swearing! This is awesome!!!
Thanks you for commenting on my itty-bitty blog today!! It really made my day!

A while back my mom started buying from a company called 'feature films for families' They do the same thing but you only buy the edited copy? I dont think they do more popular movies, they usually do some lesser known ones and make sure they have a 'moral' to them. If your interested i guess they must have something on the web.
