I love traditions! I love trying to make every holiday one that my kids can look forward to. So, here's what I've come up with for Easter...
It's called the Easter Yarn Maze. What you do is buy a different color of yarn for each child in your home.
Hide their Easter basket and tie their yarn color to the basket.

Then make a maze with the yarn throughout the house (wrap around railing, slide under the couch, around doorknobs, etc.) and finally end up tying it to their bed post (while they're sleeping). When your kids wake in the morning, they have to untie their yarn from their bed and take it with them...completing their yarn maze...that will eventually lead them to find their easter basket! You can adjust the difficulty of the maze to the ages of your kids. The more mazes you have going throughout the house the better!

Cute idea! I won't tell you the last time my eggs were fertilized.....
very cute. And if my eggs were fertilized, I'd have some serious 'splainin' to do!
My husband would go insane. This would drive him bonkers, having yarn strewn throughout the house. I think it's awesome.
thanks for the ideas. Now here is something I'm dying (pardon the pun, easter eggs, get it?) to get your thoughts on. My commuting day is going to double, what are your thoughts on how to entertain a 3 year old and an 18 month old in the car for an hour at a time?
Alright, Mrs. Reb:
1. Leapster L-Max (learning games). This is on sale for the best price ever this week at Target for $34.99! On one of my older posts I recommended some games.
2. Leapster Tag - book reading pen system.
3. Do you have an ipod?? Download childrens audiobooks from itunes onto it and play them in the car. I also download childrens music or soundtracks from movies they like.
4. For just over $100 bucks, you can get the strap-on-the-seat DVD players. Think Baby Einstein, Lion King, whatever...
5. Keep a ziploc bag full of not-too-messy snacks in your car for fussy kids.
6. Car books - like Where's Waldo?, the I Spy books, and other activity books.
6. Give me a few and I'll do a post on car games to play while driving. (Probably next week!) Monday we're doing a giveaway...so one of the days after that.
Hope these ideas help for now!
That would be fun, b/c the little kids are too little to just find a basket on their own
I knew you would come through...thank you. I'm going to target this morning. You are the best. Wow, can you believe I am making post requests? What are you, a DJ? Thank you for indulging me into your pot of good ideas. Happy Easter weekend to you both.
Mariel - thanks so much for popping over to my blog recently to say hello. I have enjoyed reading through your blog as a result! What fun ideas for the whole fam! Adding to bookmarks. :) Happy Easter!
