This same recipe was on Good Things Utah...but the sauce was different. I made it Christmas morning, it was so good! I'm sure there are lots of variations of the sauce to put on top, but here's the one from the show that I tried (I'll have to try yours too!):

Caramel Cream Sauce

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 TBS. flour
1 cup whipping cream
1/4 cup butter
2 TBS. vanilla

Bring to a boil the sugar, brown sugar, flour, and whipping cream for 3 minutes then remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla.
