I like 'em, I love 'em, I want some more of 'em! (hands, that is:)
As a mom of twins (and yes, this one IS my fav.....j/k, of course), I have often found myself begging for about 8 more hands... or at the very least, that one of my chubby little guys will have some sort of desire to get on his own two feet, and out of my one arm. My plan is to somehow free up one of those manos of mine! I can imagine that at least some of you have had a similar goal. In the meantime, here are some of my favorite things that help.... as much as possible anyway.
#1. Wristlet Key Fobs!
These things are sweet. Not only do they free up my hands, but I no longer have to swim through stashes of who knows what at the bottom of my purse to find my keys - they are always "found" right on my wrist!
There are tons of super cute ones like this "red riding hood and wolf" on Etsy (abt $6).
This bad boy works just as well.
Who knew that all those janitors already had it goin' on this whole time?!
And ya can't beat the price at a measly $2!
A small price to pay for a great new life.
#2. Blue Tooth.
Seriously, this has changed my life. When my hubby got me this for my B-day last year, I almost threw up a little in my mouth. I was NOT going to be one of those guys who I always think are talking to me as I walk by, causing me to stop (desperately trying to remember how/why I should know them, but unfortunately don't) and try to make conversation back, only to receive a weird look (b/c they for sure don't know me) until I catch a glimpse of that alien thing beeping in/on their electronic geek ear! Awkward! But, I have to say, I am now also that person, and proud of it. I sigh a great breath of relief even thinking about how awesome it is to remain on the phone with my lil' sis, without breaking my neck and/or smashing into 10 million things (cuz I can actually steer my stroller) as I go down the isle in Target, or do the dishes, or even take a little tinkle (shhhh. don't tell!!). Totally worth all the awkwardness that I now cause.
And look, they even make one that's at least semi- girly. (abt $40-$140+)
#3. Backpacks.
We all know how these things work - we were masters of them in 1st grade!
And, let's face it, there's a backpack out there for everyone.
No more struggling to keep that shoulder strap on for me!
Super cute and super chic. Petunia Pickle Bottom Boxy Backpack ($169)
Target special ($49)
And last, but definitely not least...
#4. APRONS!
Namely, one that has pockets. You'd be amazed at how many essential things (cell phone, chapstick, cheerios, etc.) these things can store. Plus, they protect your clothes (or in my case, cover up my baby food stained clothes;) AND give you a little style at the same time!
"Nine Pockets" Apron (on sale now! $39)
Both of these cuties were found at jilliewillie.com.
Well, I hope y'all liked it! I'm off to go wave these free hands in the air, wave 'em like I just don't care.... later!
*Try Wikipedia-ing the phrase "mano a mano" - pretty funny stuff.
