Family Night: Midnight Feast

"She One" and I thought it would be fun to have a "Family Night" lesson, game or activity that we share with you each month. Family time is becoming less prevalent, and all families need to "feel the love" so here goes the first family night idea. With school being out and all, I thought this idea was perfect. It would probably be better with kids who are a little older, but for younger ones just let them stay up later than usual. Im rambling again, so I will get to "it."

Midnight Feast

This activity should be done a weekend or vacation when the family doesn't have to wake up for school or work. Someone needs to be the organizer of the feast (we all know this means mom) Decide on a place to have the feast: a backyard, under the stars, in a fort you've made, the basement, or you could drive somewhere special. The place doesn't matter as long as you've kept it a secret until the last minute. Midnight (or earlier for littler ones) is a magical time and this will be an adventure to talk about and remember for a long time! Plan food for the feast that the family doesn't get to eat often- nothing messy or difficult to carry. S'mores- (homemade raspberry marshmallows- yum) for the recipe click here.

Get blankets to sit on and set the alarm clock for 11:45 so everyone can be awake and ready to meet and eat at midnight! If the kids aren't going to sleep you could play games, talk about their days. Make it a family bonding time. Make it a tradition!
