Have you ever wondered what your hubby is trying to tell you by the flowers (or lack thereof) he brings home? Besides him hoping to get some lovin', here's what he might be trying to tell you (very subconsciously I'm sure). Or, it's just nice to know if you want to send flowers to someone:
Tulips are my favorite flower. Tulips mean "perfect love" and symbolize elegance and grace. The different colors of tulips also have different meanings. Purple is for royalty, white expresses forgiveness, and yellow is cheerfulness.
Daffodils are the flower of good luck. It is a lucky emblem of wealth and prosperity around the world, and also symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings. Great for a family with a new one! The daffodil is also the March birth flower, and the 10th wedding anniversary flower.
Lily's are the flowers most associated with funerals and death. They symbolize that the soul of the departed has left the body and has restored innocence. Peruvian lilies represent friendship and devotion, white stargazer lilies express sympathy, and pink represent wealth and prosperity. The lily is the May birth flower, and the 30th wedding anniversary flower.
Roses. The enduring symbol of love and passion, they also represent confidentiality. In ancient Rome, they would be placed on the door of a room where confidential matters were being discussed. The color of the rose also has different meanings. Red: also known as the lovers rose, it is the ultimate symbol of enduring love and passion.
White: humility, purity and innocence is also know as the bridal rose. It also sends a message saying "I am worthy of you."
Yellow: joy and happiness, warmth, gladness and affection.
Pink: gentleness, femininity, and elegance. A dark pink conveys gratitude and appreciation, and light pink represents happiness and admiration.
Orange: enthusiasm, passion and desire. Lilac or purple: love at first sight! Sending one rose means "I will love you always," a tea rose says "I'll remember you always."
Here are the birth month flowers:
Jan: Carnation
Feb: Iris
March: Daffodil
April: Daisy
May: Lily
June: Rose
July: Larkspur
August: Gladiola
September: Aster
October: Marigold
November: Chrysanthemum
December: Poinsettia

I love the smell of Jasmine! I love tulips too! They always make me think of a fairy tale land because they are so "cartoon looking" in a good way! And, I'm totally down with fairy tale lands.
For the same reason, I love Cantebury Bells...they are sooo cute! And, of course anytime I get roses they are my favorite flower.
Thanks for asking, :)
Oh, I really like this! What a great post! I love roses, I think b/c they are my birth flower. Cala lilies, hydrangea, gardenia. I think I could keep going :)

I love orange roses...stunning!
Hi, I'm new to your website. You don't know me, but I love your posts and I hope you don't mind me visiting!
Even though, as you say, lilies are associated with death and funerals, they are still my favorite. They are bold and beautiful. My mom always had orange and yellow daylilies around our front porch and so they always seem welcoming to me!
