Vintage Inspired Tree Ornament Tutorial
Take a quick tour of any holiday boutique and you may find adorable ornaments with vintage pictures of winter scenes or Jolly Old Saint Nick bringing presents to rosy cheek children. These ornaments are just plain sweet. While these little darlings are pleasing to the eye, they are not very nice to your pocketbook.
Here is a simple tutorial on how to make your own vintage ornament without all those boutique prices.
Supplies:
Flat Glass Ornaments
Spray Adhesive
Scissors or hole punch
Glitter
Ribbon
Hot glue or tacky glue
First select your image and a coordinating paper. Cute them out and glue them together.
(This adorable Santa was from Piddix)
Next, cute out a shape the same size as your photo image and spray the adhesive to this shape. Place the shape on the ornament.
Now, cover your ornament in spray adhesive and then sprinkle the glitter on it. Do this over a plate or bowl to catch all the extra glitter. Make sure that your ornament is evenly coated in glitter. You may want to tap it once or twice to shake off any excess glitter.
Once you are satisfied with your glitter job, gently peel off the shape. You should have clear glass under this shape and no glitter attached to it. Now take your selected photo image and glue it to the glass ornament. Add a ribbon and you are done!
