Happy New Year! So, for today’s post, I wanted to tell you about a couple additions to the blog. Really, really GREAT additions…at least, I think so.
First awesome addition…I hired myself an assistant. Hallelujah!
Yep, there’s no ‘supermom’ thing going on here. Sometimes, I feel so insanely overwhelmed by the blog, the kids, laundry, my church assignment, homeschool, landlord-crap, etc. that I just want to jump in the car and drive to Montana, to the beautiful middle-of-nowhere, and do nothing. NOTHING. Oh, the thought… Well, I’m sure you can relate. A woman’s work is never done…so true.
During a recent shower (where I do all my thinking), I thought LONG and hard about whether or not I should even continue doing this blog. I have loved it so much. I love getting to share with you and even get to know some of you. It is somewhat of an outlet for me, and I have learned so much about the internet, people, photography, cooking, and so many other things, just from blogging! So awesome. But, I know that my sanity has to come first. And, the blog is the only dispensable thing in my life that could free up some of my time and energy. Homeschool, too valuable. Church calling, too important. I could sell the blasted condo, and be free of landlord-nightmares (choir of angels singing), but the economy isn’t right. Laundry can’t go anywhere. My kids aren’t going anywhere, thank goodness. So, it all came down to the blog.
I thought about quitting this blog. But, then…I thought of something else. I’ll just get some help, and see how that goes. Because this whole blog thing, it can be pretty fun. It would be so hard to let go. And, I knew just who to turn to…
…my awesome, gnarly, Brazilian, soul-sista, Paula.
Say, hello.
I met Paula after I moved to Utah, when I was in high school. I was the new gal in school, but had done it plenty of times before. Paula decided that I was a snot-head, without even knowing me. What a brat, right? But, then…after gym class, we were all changing in the locker room, and I so humbly declared to everyone that I really wanted to go to E.F.Y. in Colorado (a week long LDS church camp-type-thingy), and I needed someone to come with me. Paula-who-hated-me said she would totally go. We’ve been attached at the hip, ever since. Ahhh…cute. We’ve had the best of times together. We even lived together for a while. Her and her nasty snake. We’ve even been through the toughest of times together, really sad stuff. And, we even almost died together. Really! I’ll have to tell you sometime. Just a little something about a malfunctioning airplane flying over the ocean. No big deal. Oh, we’ve got some stories. We could probably write a book.
Paula is now a mommy of 3 darling babes, and the number one gal I still call when I need to blow off some steam, share some good news, or just b.s. And, now I get to call her about blogging too! She might regret it. 🙂 And, I’m stealing all of these pictures of her off her Facebook page. Hope she doesn’t mind!
Some of you may have already met Mrs. Paula. She has been working for me, for a couple months now, and emailing many of you. I’ve put her in charge of handling guest posts, and she is doing fantastic. So, my lady-friends…if you wanna have a little chatty-chat with her, you will have to go the ‘guest post’ route. Her job is to sort through the guest posts, and find the best. She’ll chat with you, answer all your guest post questions, and get you squared away for a feature. It has been heaven to have this kind of help!
P.S. If you have a fun ‘idea’ that you want to share with everyone here, just have a gander at the guest posts page, then email Paula at [email protected].
Anyway, give her some love. She’s awesome.
Oh, and for my second blog addition…I just finished my own Amazon store! You’ll find a link to it on the sidebar, permanently. Y’all know how I love shopping, reading reviews, and trying every product on the planet. So, I thought it would be nice to have one place where I share links to all my favorite things. I’m continually blowing money researching and finding more things that I love, so check back regularly to see my new faves.
And, yes. I do make a little pocket change, if y’all buy anything. So, if you only sorta like me or maybe hate me all-together, you can just check out the suggestions and access Amazon via other means. Or, you can toss a few quarters my way, and make me smile. Either way, I know that a lot of you are coming to the blog for my product suggestions, and it’s an easy way for me to make that available to you.
Post Update: To make finding all my gift ideas easier for you, I put Gift Idea Central on the sidebar. Any time I do a new gift idea post, it will be updated there. So, bookmark that page to keep it handy for future reference!
So, that’s it! Have a happy day.
