we've tried the Chi on my girls' hair - and it just never really did the trick... we ended up using a friends' "as seen on TV" straightener (danged if I can remember the name though...) and have loved it... it's been nice to see the frizz go away for the first time EVER!

Thanks for the post Mariel, and for mentioning me! I went ahead and bought an InfraShine flat iron because Meagan has one and I've always liked it. I bought it on ebay and didn't realize that I'd gotten the new fancy model called the Aero Plus. It actually can blow a stream of cool air on your hair as it straightens it to set the style. I don't particularly like the blowing air, but I guess it's a nice feature. It doesn't curl my hair as nice as Meagan's. I wish I'd waited until I read your post because I hadn't even considered that being an issue. Oh well. Thanks again for the info, and for fulfilling my request!

I have a "HAI elite Tong Flat Iron Digital Ceramic Tourmaline 2 inch Hair Straightener, Styling Tool" Copied the OFFICAL name from the website! :). I LOVE it! It was about $125. It has a digital temp dial that you can turn up or down. I usually keep it around 356 degrees. My hair is Super thick and naturally curly and it straightens it perfectly and quickly. The T3 looks awesome however, I don't know if my HAI will ever die? Going on 2.5 years. I can't justify another expensive flat iron purchase until the first one gives up the ghost!

Grrr... I have a babyliss and I have hated it since the day I bought it. It came with a 4 year warranty, but you can only return it for in store credit.... from a store I never go to. Boo. The other thing (since I'm sure you're dying to know) is the babyliss' plates don't perfectly line up with the plastic, resulting in pulled hair. I ripped a chunk out of my moms hair yesterday and felt really bad. I am itching to get a chi and wishing I would have gotten one in the first place, but I have a hard time justifying ANOTHER hundred dollar iron. Boo.

My cousin has a chi and every time I would go to her house I would use it. Then my sister in law got this one called "Generic Value Product (GVP)". She loved it so much that my husband decided for valentines he was gonna get me one. I was so happy he did. Its better than the chi and cheaper. They have alot of different patterns and colors. Now when my cousin comes to stay at my place she just leaves her chi at home and always ask if she can use my awesome GVP. This is the one I have Pink Snake Skin. I had a CHI and it never really got my hair the way I wanted it. My hair is VERY thick and it seemed to only stay straight for at most an hour after doing it. One Christmas (maybe 2 years ago) my husband got sick of me complaining and got me a Conair Nano Silver. Nopt to sound snooty but I opened and thought "Conair??" if the CHI didn't work this thing won't! Much to my surprise it does the job!! I was SHOCKED! And the best part was that he got it at Target and it was only $80...not that 80 bucks is cheap but compaired to the CHI it was!!!

I have a flat iron by "Her Styler" that's bright green, it's 100% ceramic and I LOVE IT. I haven't tried many different ones to be honest so I can't compare. BUT, my hair ranges from thin to way corse thick strands and I have a TON OF IT! It takes me FOREVER to curl it with a curling iron, but with this flat Iron I can straighten or curl it in 10-12 minutes, which blows my mind.
